Speak with Larissa Sunstrike at the Sanctum of the Stars in Shadowmoon Valley. Completing quests for the Scryers will cause your Aldor reputation level to decrease.

You now have the means to stop Varedis. Wait until he manifests his demonic form through metamorphosis, at that point you will need to burn the book in his presence.
